Amber Rudd

Any reference to "the deportation of immigrants" – or, more correctly, "deportation targets" – should have been allowed as a correct answer to this question. Either of these is actually a more correct answer than "the Windrush scandal".

According to Wikipedia, Amber Rudd resigned "after misleading the Home Affairs Select Committee on deportation targets."

MQL's Guidance for Question Setters encourages setters to "include supplementary information with the answer. It often makes for a clearer understanding of the question, and adds to the evening." The setter in this instance complied fully with this guidance, but failed to act on the previous comment: "make sure the Question Master knows the answer you want". Although "targets for the removal of immigrants" were mentioned in the supplementary information, there was essentially no guidance for question masters on what was or was not an acceptable answer.
